INTERESTED? HERE’S SOME INFORMATION TO GET YOU STARTED

 THERE ARE TWO TRACKS AT COASTAL MOTOCROSS CLUB:

· The Main Track – for senior riders and junior riders over the age of 7.

· The Nipper Track – for riders just starting out or under 7 and is for practice only – there is no timed racing on the Nipper Track.

 

WHAT TYPES OF EVENTS ARE HELD AT COASTAL MOTOCROSS CLUB?

· Race days – the club runs an annual club series where points are accumulated in each race.

· State Series Racing– one round of the Tasmanian state series is held at CMXC each year.

· Practice Days – these are run from time to time, facilitated by accredited volunteers who oversee sign on and safety on the track.  Details of these are published on the CMXC facebook page.

· The track can be hired for private training events.

· On race and practice days the Nipper Track is open.  Riders need to be at the Nipper Track for sign on at 9, with their safety gear, motorbike and a supervising adult.

 

WHAT ARE THE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS?

There are basic requirements for bikes and riders. 

BIKES:

Before coming to the track check the following:

· Brakes work, brake and clutch levers are not broken

· Bar ends are plugged

· Chain and Sprockets are good

· No loose spokes and tyres are reasonable

· Wheel bearings are good

· Good general mechanical condition

· No obvious defects

· On race days, race numbers must be clear

RIDERS:

Required: Off-road motorcycle boots, goggles, gloves, approved motorcycle helmet, long sleeve shirt, sturdy trousers, knee guards

Recommended: Body armour, neck braces and elbow guards​

 

WHAT DOES IT COST?

All riders must be financial members of the club.  Details of annual memberships are available here:  https://www.cmxc.com.au/memberships

Day memberships and licences are available if you only want to come for one day to see if you like racing. 

 

RACE DAY TIMING:

Timing/scoring – Mylaps Transponders are used for timing and if you wish to be included in results on race day you will need to have fitted to your bike.  There are a limited number which can be hired on race days.
